LADY’S MANTLE (Alchemilla vulgaris)
AKA: Nosebleed, herb militaris, soldier's woundwort
Venus - Water - Feminine
Powers: Love

Of a very drying and binding character' and was formerly considered one of the best vulneraries or wound herbs. Use the herb in love spells and sachets.

LAVENDER (Lavendula angustifolia)
AKA: Garden Lavender, spike lavender
Mercury - Air - Masculine
Powers: Love, Protection, Sleep, Chastity, Longevity, Purification, Happiness, Peace

Largely used in perfumery and as a flavoring agent.Used in love spells and sachets. The scent of Lavender attracts men. The odor of Lavender is conducive to long life. It is also used in healing mixtures.

XLEMON BALM (Melissa officinalis)
AKA: Melissa, Sweet Balm, Balm mint, bee balm
Anodyne, antibacterial, antihistamine, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, calmative, carminative, digestive, emmenagogue, lactogogue, nervine, sedative, stomachic, sudorific.

XLEMON PEEL (Citrus limon)
Moon - Water - Feminine
Powers: Longevity, Purification, Love, Friendship
Effective in stimulating the digestive tract and promoting good digestion, used to calm an upset stomach, ease colic and indigestion. The peel is added to love sachets and mixtures Lemon juice is mixed with water and the mixture is used to wash magical objects--removing negative vibrations. Add juice to bath water-full moon-purification.

X LEMON VERBENA (Aloysia triphylla)
AKA: Cedron, Yerba Louisa
Mercury - Air - Masculine
Powers: Purification, Love

The uses of Lemon Verbena are similar to mint, as a stomachic and antispasmodic in dyspepsia, indigestion and flatulence, stimulating skin and stomach.
Used in love spells and mixtures. Added to other mixtures to increase their strength.

XLEMONGRASS (Cymbopogon citratus)
AKA: Gandhatrana, Hari-chaha, Bhutrin
Mercury - Air - Masculine
Powers: Repel Snakes, Lust, Psychic Powers
Used for fevers, disordered menstration, vomiting and diarrhea, colic, flatulence, fever and catarrh. Warning: Not to be used during pregnancy.
Used in lust potions. An infusion aids in developing psychic powers.

XLICORICE (Glycyrrhiza uralensis)
AKA: Gan cao, sweet root, glycyrrhiza
Venus - Water - Feminine
Powers: Lust, Love, Fidelity
As an anti-hepatotoxic licorice is effective in the treatment of chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis, for which it is been widely used in Japan. Warning: Not to be used during pregnancy. Not to be used while nursing. Contraindicated for diabetes and in hypertension, liver disorders, severe kidney. Added to love and lust sachets.

AKA: Lime Blossoms, Tilia
Jupiter - Air - Masculine
Powers: Protection. Immortality, Luck, Love, Sleep
Useful with colds, cough, fever, infections, high blood pressure, and headache, and as a diuretic, antispasmodic, and sedative. The leaves and flowers are used in love spells, Linden & Lavender equally mixed make great sleep pillows.

LOBELIA (Lobelia inflata) POISON
AKA: Lobella, asthma weed, pukeweed, vomit weed
Saturn - Water - Feminine
Powers: Halting Storms, Love
WARNING: Do Not use internally. Throw some powdered Lobelia at a coming storm to halt it. Lobelia attracts love.

XLUNGWORT (Pulmonaria officinalis)
In modern times, science has shown that lungwort is indeed beneficial for the lungs. It has a high concentration of mucilage which makes it helpful for treating bronchitis. Lungwort was once used as a treatment for tuberculosis.
As an infusion, add 1-2 tsp of dried lungwort to 1 cup boiling water. Infuse for 10-15 minutes and drink 3 times daily. As a tincture, take 1-4 ml 3 times daily. Leaves may be applied externally for bleeding.

XLYCII (Lycium chinense)
AKA: Wolfberry, Chinese Wolfberry, Red Medlar
A decoction of the fruit is sweet. An energy restoring tonic, uses of the decoction include benefits to blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels, enhanced function of liver and kidneys. Has been used to treat chronic fevers, internal hemorrhages, nosebleeds, tuberculosis, coughs, and asthma. The fruit will treat diabetes, poor eyesight, vertigo, lumbago, impotence and menopausal complaints. Decoction can be used topically to quell itchy skin conditions.

X MANDRAKE (Podophyllum peltatum) POISON
AKA: MayApple, Hog apple, American Mandrake
Mercury - Fire - Masculine
Powers: Protection, Fertility, Money, Love, Health

Carried to attract love. Where there is mandrake, demons cannot reside. Money placed beside Mandrake is said to double. The scent causes sleep.

MARJORAM (Origanum majorana)
AKA: Mountain Mint, Wintersweet
Mercury - Air - Masculine
Powers: Protection, Love, Happiness, Health, Money

It is used in love spells and added to food to strengthen love. Carried and placed around the home it is protective. In the garden it offers shielding powers from evil. Used in money spells.

XMARSHMALLOW (Althea officinalis)
AKA: Althea root, sweet weed, mallards, guimauve
Reportedly useful in inflammation and irritation of the alimentary canal, and of the urinary and respiratory organs. Qualities & Properties: Demulcent, emmolient, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, mucilaginous. Used to cure impotency and as an aphrodisiac, it is also used in funerary rites.

XMEADOWSWEET (Filipendula ulmaria)
AKA: Bride of the Meadow, Dollor, Gravel Root
Jupiter - Air - Masculine
Powers: Love, Divination, Peace, Happiness
One of the best digestive remedies available. Protects and soothe the mucous membranes of the digestive tract, reduces excess acidity and eases nausea. It is used in the treatment of heartburn, hyperacidity, gastritis and peptic ulceration. Useful in treating diarrhea in children.Dried Meadowsweet is used in love mixtures. Strewn about the house to keep the peace.

X MILK THISTLE (Silybum marianum)
AKA: Holy thistle, Lady's Thistle, Mary thistle
Helpful for liver disorders, protects the liver from chemical and biological toxins, boosts the liver's own regenerating powers, aids mild digestive problems and is sometimes given to prevent travel sickness.

XMISTLETOE (Phoradendron flavescent) POISON
AKA: Bird Lime, Devil’s Fuge, Holly Wood
Sun - Air - Masculine
Powers: Protection, Love, Hunting, Fertility, Health, Exorcism
Protection against lightning, disease, misfortune, fires, etc.
Placed under the pillow gives restful sleep. Burned it banishes evil.

XMUIRA PUAMA (Ptychopetalum olacoides)
AKA: Marapuama, Marapama, Potency Wood
Apertif, aphrodisiac, anti-rheumatic, anti-stress, anti-dysenteric, central nervous system stimulant, nervine, neurasthenic, tonic. Traditionally used as an aphrodisiac. The wood chips that are rich in aromatic resin is the ideal ingredient in different incense blends. Muira Puama can be blended with calamus, verbena, nutmeg to name but a few.

AKA: velvet plant, white mullein, bullock's lungwort
Saturn - Fire - Feminine
Powers: Courage, Protection, Health, Love, Divination, Exorcism
Uses include expectorant; lung ailments; diarrhea; hemorrhoids; protection; courage; invokes spirits; keeps away demons and nightmares while asleep.

XBROWN MUSTARD SEED (Brassica nigra)
AKA: Black mustard, red mustard
Mars - Fire - Masculine
Powers: Fertility, Protection, Mental Powers

Carrying the seed in a red cloth sachet to protect from colds and to increase mental powers. For protection from supernatural beings: placed on the doorsill and buried under the doorstep. When eaten it increases fertility in women.

XNETTLE (Urtica dioica)
AKA: Stinging nettle, common nettle, greater nettle

Mars - Fire - Masculine
Powers: Exorcism, Protection, Healing, Lust

Cleanses the system by promoting the flow of urine and also aids kidney and bladder function. Used to expel gravel from the bladder, flush toxins from the system and combat urinary infections.Sprinkle Nettle around the house to keep evil and to send it back. Thrown onto a fire to avert danger. Held in the hand to ward off ghosts. Carried with Yarrow to allay fear.
